Leftovers
I am not hungry,
at least not for food.
I am hungry for something
that fills me up
and stays.
The stairs are heavy.
Every step carries something,
but nothing stays the same.
I am hungry again.
For something that does not fade away.
Two steps forward,
one step back.
Form turns into memories while I get my steps in.
I am here to stay,
not for long,
but as long as I can.
Have I simply not noticed,
or does it not exist at all?
Greetings to every passerby
until I fade away.
