I have a dog that many people might find terrifying. He’s a 47 kg black Cane Corso. For me it is unfathomable, as he is sweet, loving and friendly. What causes people to have such different reactions? Why are previous experiences so crucial in building these reactions?
In my work I present animals, in a non-scary way, but even that might provoke fear in people. I also paint both possible opposing sides of such animals letting them not be generalized into a group but to be seen from two sides at the same time.
