What if we understand the impossible, the dream and the fantasy not as a philosophical counter-concept of reality, but rather as a feedback loop and entry into further possible realities?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the title “Reality and other impossible things”, curator Nora Mayr brings together tender and loud, humorous and imaginary worlds from the students of painting and animation film. The exhibition takes shape as a playful arrangement of animation, sculpture and painting, narratives and visions that span fantastical animal figures, exposed love and discarded pomegranates are interwoven here.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By definition, reality is meant to describe  \u2018how things are\u2019 and denotes a state as it is \u2018actually encountered\u2019. People have widely divergent perceptions of reality, yet the perceptions of reality for a bat or an earthworm stand in even greater contrast and are entirely different from each other. Psychotherapist Paul Watzlawek accordingly asks the question: “how real is reality?” in a classic of communication science. <\/p>\n","protected":false,"raw":"\n
